I'm a dispatcher and I'm trying to find a good mapping program. I want to be able to send the drivers a custom route on how to get to their next stop. I've been messing around with Google Maps and some other map companies specifically for truckers but none of them have exactly what I need. You can customize the route between point A and point B it's just whatever the software comes up with. We haul cars and a lot of my open trailer guys have problems with low trees which is why I'm trying to do this. If I find it I will let you guys know but if anyone can help in the meantime it would be appreciated.
Hire a real driver and let them do their job. Last thing any industry needs is a dispatcher tring to give directions to a driver, don't care what there hauling unless it requires a routed dispatch because of permits. You want to give directions to a driver then get in the seat and learn what you don't now know, only then grasshopper can you give directions.......
Any decent company would have PC miler If you are trying to use Google maps it is time to become a real dispatcher. Google maps is not for truckers.
Google Maps has gotten a lot of truckers in trouble. Those directions are for a Toyota Prius, not an 80-foot long Peterbilt.
