I pay up to $18 per night at PFJ, and they have trash cans, food, bathrooms and showers. Unless you're in a very busy area with no truck stops or legal parking near by, the answer would be no.

I don’t pay for parking unless it’s late and a congested area. I pay for parking by buying fuel and food there. Restrooms and showers are never clean enough especially if a place is trying to make a living on $20 a spot only. Can’t see the math working out on that?
Socal Xpress Thanks this. -
If I had to, sure. As a company driver my employer would reimburse me.
After all truck stops are business’ too. There’s many drivers who use them for parking, disposing trash etc; but don’t make any purchases. Even if you bought fuel, the profit margin to them is so small it’s hardly a big deal.
If paid parking became more common, I’d be okay with it, providing the money went towards a better quality truck stop. (Clean, secure, healthy food options, etc).
Also making it easier to pay would be good. For example, self serve kiosk at the entrance to the lot, pay using your fuel card.Wicked Wizard, Trucker61016, localtrucker2020 and 1 other person Thank this. -

About once a year I am desperate enough to buy a reserved spot at a J/Pilot. Everything I need there is free with points including showers. Paying for parking is a waste of money in most of the country. Be more creative.
Here I sit tonight off way off to the side of a quiet on ramp in some gravel, way off the ramp. No one is ever here. There are no 'no parking' signs. Every truck stop at the exits before and after it are always packed out. This I do not understand.
For a shower I stop mid day and never wait.alds, mitmaks and Trucker61016 Thank this. -
What about a bar with some thick dancers? That might "draw a crowd"?alds, Snailexpress, Final Drive and 2 others Thank this.
