Keep in mind you are down south where rates entirely different from what we are doing. There is a reason we rarely go further south than the Carolinas or north Georgia.
There is a certain outfit not far from us, without mentioning any names, that has the 'tater work locked up back to our area.broke down plumber, Sons Hero, D.Tibbitt and 2 others Thank this. -
I believe what you’re saying @Tall Mike and meant no disrespect in the comment, it’s genuinely interesting to me to see where the money is at in different areas of the country, seems like our bread and butter comes from shredder residue up and landscape rock back.

Good friend of mine runs for that tater outfit as an O/O. He just bought the 2nd truck, so must be doing ok, I scratch my head at some of their 650+ mile deadheads for a load, but I’m sure he has it figured out.broke down plumber, Feedman, Isafarmboy and 4 others Thank this.

Not much to figure out really…look at what it’s paying per hundred weight…long as rates hi enuff for entire mileage round trip..,good to go
Same way the few remain Yoder chip stock haulers up this way(who can still get away with it) load a 40’ 12’ hi wagon #### near to the roof and boogie home

We do that too. I bounced from central Ohio out to Colorado. One of our customers had a code red emergency. Boss man charges them a flat rate for the bounce. I go hourly after the first two hours on the empty miles. The loaded trip back to Penn-syl-tucky pays by the ton. As long as I keep it around 90k, give or take, he doesn't say much.jcatel, Oxbow, broke down plumber and 3 others Thank this.
