008.JPG The International is my regularly assigned truck, but it's back at the big warehouse in the big motor pool now it was in dire need of serious maintenance and it probably might be slated to be sold off out of the fleet I have no idea what they are going to do with it the company is mostly Volvo and they haven't bought any Internationals since 2007 this is an older truck that probably no matter what in 24 months will be retired anyhow. This is the final picture I took of it as it was all hooked up and driven back to the main motor pool.

Out with the old and in with the new 2015 Volvo a Transit Driver let me use his truck as my trailer was the lead one. Big difference between the 2015 Volvo and the 2006 Cornbinder ha-ha!

2007 Volvo this truck I wanted it to be mine, but it didn't happen this truck has almost 500,000 miles on it, but is very clean and runs really well has shinny wheels and everything. This picture was taken on a Friday after I got back and hooked up a set of doubles.

Cool a mail contractor truck. What's it like working for a mail contractor, it's something I've always had a mild interest in.

I like doing it. You pick up mail from the processing centers or the airport and run it to the post offices. You see the same people every day so that's nice. Some of the post offices are quite tight though. For instance, Zionsville, you can't take anything bigger than a 40ft trailer, and it's still a tight fit getting in there. 1 Huge downside with the post office is that mail runs 24/7/365, so until you get senority, expect to work some holidays

I noticed here in Cleveland, the post office seems to have there own tractor trailers that go from the processing center to the stations. However I also see Kuchenrither of N. Ridgeville, Ohio and some of the other mail carriers running around a lot and I also see some Mail Contract Carriers with Straight Trucks going to certain post office stations as well.

A lot of the bigger cities do. We have USPS drivers here in Indianapolis but we have contractors too. Once I get my year of driving experience needed, I'm hoping to get on at the post office. They don't drive farther than 25 miles and do like 20 drop and hooks a day. And they get paid ridiculous money.

I applied to work as a causal fill in support employee for the Post Office, but being employed I couldn't make it to the Post Office interview and that was that. Always was curious though about working for a postal contractor.
