Yes every newbie truck driver who hasn't driven a month needs all this but I am afraid you left out the popcorn machine $1200, and soda dispenser $1700.

My cb sits in a box in my garage. Haven't used it in 10 yrs. My cell phone is a non-smart phone and I rarely call the customer, if ever. I purchased my GPS back in 09 for about $200 (about the cost of a cb, the cords, antenna, peaking & tuning, AND a smart phone) and I get free annual updates on the maps for the GPS which makes my last atlas I bought in 01 quite obsolete. A single tool and it makes it complex. o_O

When I made my posting I did so with tongue in cheek as they say. I live for 3 to 4 weeks in the truck and I like my comforts. As the Marines say, if God had wanted you to have comforts the Marines would have issued you comforts.

You do not "need" anything at all in your truck. What you buy is up to you. I have recently added a portable toilet to my truck. I did so after getting cramps from something I ate and then having a woman of attitude tell me that I could not use their restrooms. I told her that I would be happy to take a dump in the parking lot if she would just point out which was her vehicle. Her supervisor made an exception in my case.

I spent 8 months in prison, which is very much like living in a truck. The small creature comforts keep you sane. I do miss the fact that on the road we have separate showers. (prison humor).:biggrin_25510:

You're getting ahead of yourself in training. Now is the time to learn the rules and the truck. You should be collecting all the books you're going to need. It's also time to find a very good trainer so you can advance from there. Besides you'll want to have your truck that's assigned to you.. So you'll know where everything will go. But that time you should have been exposed enough to other drivers that have their truck wired to the 10's Then you go ahead and fix the cab the way you want.
