i think the problem lies in refering to the diner as a truckstop. they just are looking for patornage for letting you park . It isn't a pilot afterall. I spent a 34 there in march and everyone was nice and i broke even eating there 4 times. This isnt really a mountain just a lil mole hill over nothing

somewhere but the oasis , but really that is a bit of a problem, you cant get in there to take a leak, grab a sandwich or anything. i think they camp there waiting on a pickup or delivery in the middle of the night

    Tell me where then.

Rest assured it has not been me, but I know drivers who have run out of hours there. But do share the wisdom and vast knowledge of alternatives for the rest of us.

Not when the company sets the appointments and you have to plan the arrivals and such with no truckstops. Many of the receivers and shippers have no parking allowed.

I went there after unloading at Price Chopper at 2AM and found that it was 100% full. Got onto the Thruway and spent the night at the service area on the EB/SB side. Plenty of parking there and found that they didnt charge a toll to get off at the 90 split so free parking, lol!

Well since you've been driving for 33 years, I probably don't have to tell you this, but for the benefit of the other readers, there is a better place to park in Albany other than the Pilot and it's only about 2-3 miles from the Pilot. It's across the street / highway from the old Cooper Tire plant......basically, keep going south on 300 for another 2 blocks to 82 (1/2 block past WalMart there will be a Harvey's Supermarket on your left) Take a left and go east on 82 about 2 miles and you will see the old Cooper Tire plant on your right and a Roadrunner truckstop on your left. The place is usually empty......stop at Walmart and get something to eat because the food is awful there. Happy Trails!!
