I quit shaving with razors years ago. I just use the beard trimmer. Close enough with out the irritation.

i have been thinking about trying a straight razor. I use the 3 blade disposable razors.

I used the use the expensive ones, where you just change the heads. But the disposable ones are cheaper, and the same thing.

But they keep getting clogged with hair, and then they don't shave anymore. sometimes i will use a needle to get the hair out from in between the blades

Needle between the blades? Sounds to me like that would damage the razor edge. If it doesn't rinse out, it is probably time for a new razor.:biggrin_25521:

I thought about the straight razor myself. I researched them on the internet and they can be expensive for a nice one. And there's quite a bit of maintenance involved. Not to mention the very real chance of cutting yourself badly. The old style safety razors are pretty cool and the blades are really cheap. I couldn't believe how expensive the replacement blades are for the newer razors are. I wish the barber shops still did a shave. I hate shaving myself even with the trimmer.

That funk is mildew. I bet you have a front loading machine, right? You need to leave the door slightly open when you're not using it, otherwise you get that smell and in some washers you can't get rid of it.

I think most liquid detergent these days are safe for HE washers with the exception of Dreft, you have to buy the special Dreft.

OT, why would you be using the truckstop soap? You should be bring your own hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, TOWELS, flip flops, etc. Truckstop towels are fine to stand on, but so you really want to be drying your skin with a towel that was used last by a guy with eczema or some other nastiness. Or think of it this way, some guys butt crack was on that towel a couple hours ago. I hope he washed well.

    scottied67 Thanks this.
