It's bugging me trying to remember this place or if I'm just imagining it. I think I went to a truck stop once where they had a timer that would shut the water off after a certain amount of time, maybe you had to put more money in or something. Does anybody know this place and where it is?

I've only been to New Hampshire a few times so probably not that one. I've only been driving since 2014 so it wouldn't have been back in the 80's, either.Another Canadian driver, bumper Jack and JonJon78 Thank this.

I’ve seen some with a timer for the lights.

I’m trying to remember. The shower was something like 8-10 bucks. You paid at the desk and they gave you 2 bucks in quarters. You put the quarters in a box in the shower. That got you 30 minutes. The shower was pretty clean if I remember right. I can’t think of the location to save my life though.
I did ask why they did it that way and they said because drivers would just leave the water running when they were done. -
That sounds like the place. Just have no idea where it was.

I can see it in my mind, but I just can’t recall where it was.

Lots have timers on the hot water. You take a long shower, hot water runs out , sink has lots of hot. Easy to do according to a plumber friend.
JC1971 Thanks this. -
This place was exactly like Bumper Jack said. You had to put quarters in to start it and you had a certain amount of time. Guess I'll just have to keep driving OTR until I come across it again. It's just bugging me which truck stop it was.Elroythekid and bumper Jack Thank this.
