How about the driver who was found dead in his empty reefer after about 3 weeks back in 1983
I lived 10 miles from there from 1976 until 2013. Never a dull moment.

Have you or anybody else been there since they remodeled and reconfigured the parking lot? Worst truck stop ever IMO.
-
I just looked at the sat Pic... There were like 3 safe spots back when it was a FJ, and the version in the pic looks worse than that configuration!
I was napping there when the earthquake shook the snow off Ranier, I thought a really hefty lizard was bouncing on my step until I saw the power lines bouncing. Didn't take long to vacate and head towards Portland before WADOT had a chance to start closing down bridges for inspection!hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
...Worse??? Yep, your right I would never park there. Even the little lot across the street looks tight. Did your sat. view show that CRST truck nosed in at a slight angle by the shop? Hate to be that guy when he wakes up to all the "Make-A-Spot" guys blocking him in...

All those stops along 75 in Northern KY suck. Couple okay ones further south. London travel Plaza is okay. I like Derby City in Mt Vernon.

I’m drawing a blank on that one…in Kearny on US 1-9 there’s a couple crappy joints but I don’t remember a Pilot.
-
The Petro is better if you MUST stop for the night around there.Blagoje Thanks this.

Late in the evening, yea, but I've never actually had a problem finding a spot there. There is a beautiful little 2 lane road going up into the mountains that I love to walk to. Go to the creek and listen to the water trickling down the mountain. In fact, at the starbucks right next door I found 2 dollars on the ground walking to the mountain.
I refuse to go into the Loves in Port Allen. LA. That place is horrible. It's tight as hell even without a single truck parked in the lot and every spot is always full.Last edited: Apr 12, 2024
Tall Mike Thanks this. -
Been awhile since I was OTR but that Pilot in Columbus, OH was always a train wreck.

The Pilot in Cincinnati is constantly packed to the brim.
