Oh man, first time I've been in a truck stop during daylight hours in many years, pulled in to take 30. What an experience. 75 yards of open space to get straight and guys still struggling to back in spot, of course wiftie had to squeeze in beside me after 5 pull up and get crooked's he managed so I guess I should be glad he didn't hit me.
Oh, and the total disregard for saftey, guys hitting 7th gear+ racing around the lot. What a #### show.
Totally shocked me, but I guess it's to be expected anymore nowadays with licenses handed out like candy.
Try to safe everyone!!!

They're is another time they are better? Driving through them in the wee hours is hardly a pleasure with so many making their own parking spots, making navigation around corners nearly impossible.

I get compliments from people sometimes for being able to hit a dock quickly. Backing is apparently a lost skill these days. Mind you, I go to some tight spots, but some of these are very easy and people still struggle to get on a door.DTP Thanks this.

One of the best things about moving to linehaul.....never ever having to pull into a truck stop again

Going to one in daylight is like picking up a girl in a bar and then seeing her the next morning. But hey, this is cool stuff. When you need to get rid of trash, you don't have to walk to a can, just open your window and let it fly. And all I had to do was buy 150 gallons and they gave me a free shower. On top of that, you think Axe body wash is cool? These people had GoJo! I slathered right up. It's great for your hair too. I smell great. Also bought a miniature roll of scotch tape. Its so small it fits anywhere. Only $2. To finish, I get a sandwich and small fry at Arbys for only $8.50. They will go out of business giving food away this cheap.

Yeah, see all the colorful aspects you were missing out on?
Rookies are ok. But some people just don't learn, and avoid learning something new at any cost.Trucking in Tennessee Thanks this. -
I have 3 spaces between me and the next truck. Two drivers have tried to get in. I wish I had an overhead. The first guy finally did 180 and was trying to hit a single, but a bobtail slid in while he was trying. The bobtail realized the problem and moved, but they guy couldn't hit that one either. He finally double parked along the curb. Candidate two comes on from Illinois. Same deal. Finally a guy comes out and says he can't make it and helps him back out. But out of nowhere this guy from Prime rolls in and nails it. Had to cheat a bit with wheels over the curb but greased it in with 3 tries.
Oldironfan and skellr Thank this. -
Avoid the easy spots! Slip into the space between two other trucks and you won't have to worry so much. Since elogs, the likeliness of someone pulling out after 4 hours is unlikely. You can avoid that situation most of the time.

I got in at 5am. Took what I could find. Had 5 minutes left on my log...lol.

Oh yeah, and people that told me idling was not good? Ha! Every truck out here is idling. Its 93 here. Do APUs not keep up when it's this hot?
