There is usually a 800 number on the side of the battery boxes that control the signals trackside with a certain string of numbers. Call that, it goes direct to railroad dipsatch and read off it's string of numbers and CTC will be blocked red signals locally pretty instantly.
At least that is the theory anyway.
I cannot tell you if the trailer skirts killed the rig or the landing gear was not wound all the way up or perhaps the 5th wheel was badly positioned causing the drive tires to become trapped under the trailer nose plate. Despite my theories that truck shouldn't have tried that crossing. The signs pretty explicit enough to me.
As a road there along side the track you would think you can raise it a foot or so to and from that exact cross track spot so that you can turn into there already almost as high as the track is from either direction and cross over. That should put a halt to any future truck problems.
