I don't do much roadside unloading anymore, but I worked for a food service company (briefly, that job sucked)(so much) and the time it would take to pull the ramp back in, get everyone out of the trailer and pull ahead would mean you were blocking someone else in by the time you got parked again, pulled the ramp out and started hand trucking the stuff off.
Not to mention, I once turned my back on a box of apples to pull my door shut before heading in and someone jacked them while I was standing 10' away.
I certainly never dealt with anyone who didn't understand the "2 minutes" sign language as i dashed from my 53' trailer on a tiny side street into a day care with a bunch of bananas.
