Hit and run in a commercial vehicle is a major violation. Once convicted he will loose his CDL for 1 year. Any combination of 2 major violations is a lifetime suspension that most states will allow you to reapply in 10 years. A DWI in anything affects a CDL holder as 1 major violation. After the 1 year they have start over from scratch taking all commercial test. Written as well as skills.

A major violation put on an inspection report will kill a small company come renewal.

im not say ol boy didn’t need locked up, I’m only saying his day is coming he is a ####ed duck

Only slaves worry about following the "rules" anymore. Nothing is enforced and even if it is it's done with a simple slap on the wrist.

Only if its more than 1000 dollars in damage. Hard to hit anything these days without incurring a grand of damage.

I was hit in Florida and it's probably close to 10,000 in damage and it was still just a misdemeanor.

Key points about hit and run charges in Florida:
    • Property damage only:
Considered a second-degree misdemeanor, with potential fines and short jail time.
    • Injury:
Classified as a third-degree felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
    • Serious bodily injury:
May be charged as a second-degree felony, with increased penalties.
    • Death:
Considered a first-degree felony, with the potential for a lengthy prison sentence.

Considering even a minor bump is over a grand nowadays with labor in a CMV let alone a car. and the dude did north of $18,000 in a construction zone, was speeding at least 20 over, nearly pushed me into a barrier where there were workers present and then ran.....

Multiple felonys. I know they were leveling reckless endagment, felony hit and run, endangering construction workers and few other big ones when i was called as a witness. Frankly the 1k limit is for something like touching mirrors. So effecrivly in missouri any hit and run is a felony due to car costs moreso in a semi.

When you consider ONE headlight for one of these new cars with LED headlights that double as turn signals and even have computers built into them to compensate for the pitch of the car going up over hills and such and for night vs day driving, ONE of these can be easily over two thousand dollars.

This development over the years really aggravates the hell out of me.

Need to replace one, the other older one looks like crap. So, need to replace both or look like ####. And, the pain in the ### to access, pull, replace..... Mmmmph!

Miss the old pull over & replace a bulb in 2second days.

Edit: Most important part, $2 bulbs vs. $2,000 entire unit replacement. Yep, had to do that last truck & went aftermarket. Still over 2 grand. What a lousy racket! LOL

It isn't just the replacement unit. They may need to be installed by a professional with the tools and computers needed to calibrate the electronics.
    Probably another grand for that.
