Trucker didn't declare booze

As a Canadian, I always found it interesting that when I cross into the States most of the questions are about making sure the Country is safe and secure.
When going into Canada it's all about "what did you buy or repair" so they can collect the taxes. I'm curious about what type questions Americans get asked when returning to to the States? Are the questions more about Tax collecting or something else?

Its actually illegal by company drivers to carry one bottle of liquor interstate (even if it is for home personal consumption).

 

I think you might be referring to company policy if it is only aimed at company drivers.

I might look this up tomorrow since the snow is going to be a pain.

 

No it's not just a company policy, but I can't quote the reg number. When they 1st issued it, it said no alcohol period. So technically brake line antifreeze was illegal. They have since modified it to be the drinking kind of alcohol.

honestly most people will never have their trucks searched unless they cross international borders...
trucker101, im american, i only get asked a couple of questions by canadians usually, and when i return to the states i get asked 50 million questions unless i manage to deal with one of the customs officers i know.

Usually the canadians ask me if i need to declare anything like alcohol/tobacco/weapons, and how long im staying where im going.

the americans have asked me the above, all the way up to what i did before i drove trucks....haha.

and when they search my truck they just seem to be turning my blankets over looking for people. i started making my bed before crossing borders makes it go smoother.

 

I had one at Sweet Grass MT that asked me 4 times if I had bought anything in Canada. He saw a walmart bag on the floor and then just asked me what was in it.

I reached down and grabbed it and handed it to him. Told him it was my dirty laundry and wanted to know if he wanted to check it.

They have never asked me again.

 

I was once asked by a Canadian customs officer if I had any kiddie porn on the truck.
