Suspect in deadly I-70 truck crash convicted on most serious counts, including vehicular homicide (msn.com)
This was the deadly crash on I 70 eastbound from April 2019, what is really scary is the number of people defending this driver, calling it just an accident, and that he shouldn't be convicted, that the company and only the company is at fault, so many different excuses for this idiot

YES...YES...YES....!!!!
this is GREAT NEWS.....!!!!!!
i heard this on the radio this morning..
sentencing will be in November i think..????
"could get up to life"...
but most likely, maybe about 20 years, 10 years suspended, time served, out at noontime.drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
I am torn here. I think there should be accountability, but intent has to be measured here and I don't feel like it was. I don't believe he intended to kill those folks. I think inadequate training is more to blame. Too many drivers are getting shoved out here way too soon. Some aren't even going out with experienced trainers, if they even go with a trainer at all.

sounds to me, this makes it a great case to NOT have anyone UNDER the age of 21 (25 would be better) to even get near a big rig.
i am not certain intent needs to be shown or proven. he knew he had a problem, and if i recall, he never even stopped at the brake check area?truckguy391 Thanks this. -
I am surprised he showed up for court. I figured he would never be seen again in this country after making bail...
I am glad he showed up......Rubber duck kw, skellr, Bean Jr. and 3 others Thank this. -
I don't know if that's the answer, I'm 37 and these guys are my age or older doing this kind of garbage. I really think better training should be a point of emphasis.

Same thing except i am 59 and people my age were taught to ....
Use all of the on ramp to get up to speed to merge
NOT pull onto the travel lanes from shoulder without accelerating first.

He reported to his company that he had brake issues before departing, they told him the brakes were fine, instead of checking them himself, or reporting to authorities there was an issue, he continued to drive. That's intentional in my book. Also, at the top of Genesse there's a brake check parkign area, he should have stopped and checked his brakes, he didn't , he failed to take the truck ramp, he could have done other things.Rubber duck kw, mjd4277, Bean Jr. and 3 others Thank this.

The one thing was he couldn’t understand English so therefore he couldn’t read
this was a big problem with this as well…he couldn’t read English evidently otherwise he would’ve known what the runaway truck ramps signs said..
