That's about the maximum angle, for me anyway. I'm a big chicken when it comes to end dumps. A few years back I got in a hurry hauling boulders to a levee break and laid one over. It was noisy.

A friend of mine flopped one when he was sitting on an angle, it went away from the tractor, BUT it lifted the truck and slammed it over. He wound up hurt pretty bad, nothing like if you are fairly straight.

Bud A., mjd4277 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Some of the newer trailers are so dad gummed long, they don't have to plug up or anything else, the wind will get them.

    Lepton1 and mjd4277 Thank this.

They're two kinds of tub drivers. Ones that have and ones that are going to.

When I was doing end dump, They were very strict about being level and less then 30 degrees preferably straight. and never in the wind.

    FlaSwampRat and Lepton1 Thank this.

We run very, very few end dumps up here, even bellys are not used a whole lot except for paving. Everything has gone to side dumps., which I had to prove, you can flop them over too. lol

    FlaSwampRat and Lepton1 Thank this.

Never should of been jacked at that angle the pivoting of the fithwheel plate made that very unstable. And i dont mean the fithwheel its self they are usally pinned with a frameless. And if he pulled forward it would of been like pulling the rug out from someone's feet. RIP driver.

FlaSwampRat, starmac and Lepton1 Thank this.

When I posted the videos of end dumps going over I noticed comments in YouTube talking about how one of the drivers still had his air bags inflated. I have never pulled a dump of any kind, but it makes sense to dump the air to be more stable. I do that with our flatbed when loading something heavy that can cause the bed to tilt.

    FlaSwampRat and 201 Thank this.
