Big rigs block traffic on East Loop in apparent protest
Don't see what good this did. Maybe we'll see more of these protests in the future.

Its not something thats lawful anyway. The Interstate system cannot be blocked. Ever.
You will never see a true shutdown, just too many hungry millions willing to run for nothing to get some food. Essentially herding cats.
As a side note 4-20 has come and gone so that might have something to do with it. They tried so hard to organize last year for months. But essentially there is no point in this Covid. -
There is not enough fish in the pond. Do the think that by protesting there will be more fish?
No solution....go get your free soup.bzinger, bryan21384, Lite bug and 5 others Thank this. -
Blocking the interstate is not a good way of trying to make public aware of something. It's a great way to get the public pissed off at you and everyone they associate with you.
They should have arrested a few more. -

Maybe having signs in English might help their cause a bit more..
bzinger, D.Tibbitt, tommymonza and 2 others Thank this. -
They are pissed of as they should be. Others want to settle and work for less. Brokers’ excuse is the price of diesel is going down but not the price per tire or engine repairs especially hauling heavy loads. It has been talked about for years for truckers to stop hauling for week. A now with this pandemic don’t y’all think it’s going to impact more. They need us more than ever. Unemployed are getting payed, current workers are getting extra but what about the truckers who actually run the country.
6wheeler, Lennythedriver and Snailexpress Thank this. -
i blame THEM for dealing with brokers that they should have run checks on to see thier payment history.
i blame THEM for taking cheap freight.
they are independents, most likely living paycheck to paycheck, maybe not educated enough in how to charge for thier services.
i ain't worried about them.
it's the SMART(er) o/o's that KNOW how to charge and get those charges, i'd be more concerned about. as THOSE are the ones that ARE businessmen first, trucker second.Last edited: Apr 23, 2020

this protest was done in Houston TX most local loads were payed 250-500$ now they’re paying $100. That’s something to be pissed of about. Now outbound loads from Houston that were usually $2 mile are now $1 mile. One broker was paying Houston TX to New Jersey $1700 but why? Because diesel prices were low! These drivers are rejecting the loads they are not working for cheap. So now what they wait around until brokers decided to pay more? What could be your best answer Mr. businessman
Snailexpress Thanks this. -
magoo68, Sirscrapntruckalot and JonJon78 Thank this.
