To answer your question… Yes…. I myself can afford to sit it out. It’s call the “rainy fund”. But at the end, we will end up with nothing but BS from your local political leaders. Teamsters are our worst enemy for O/O’s incase you didn’t know.

I parked for two months last year and could do a lot more. It depends on how they rig it. Worst case scenario I’ll find a crooked dr and donate to his favorite charity.

I can sit too .. but it took me 5 yrs of proving myself what I can & will haul to get where I'am at with the loads and rates I get offered Iam not gonna piss it away on a whim thinking I'am gonna change the out come..
Now if everybody pulling a reefer refuses to roll then in 4 mths when all the cold storage ware houses might be full and there no plants able to harvest the red meat.. then I can sit in sympathy .. because I won't have any loads to haul... but I'am pretty sure there's a boat load of 1099 carries with clapped out volvos in Crapcago that will gladly haul it for a 1.50 a mile
Beside's 50.00 buy's me a card thats says I took the needle I'll go that route if need be
BTW all you snowflake mask wear'n liberals that read the last 2 sentences of my post.. thats the price you pay for the vote you cast

I did see some tik tok videos of a trucker urging everyone to park tomorrow. I don't understand what they are striking, here or Australia, especially here. Nobody has mandated anything and the government has left it up to each person or business entity, and will continue to do such. Why are so many people so scared of everything?

Australia is not the us, they have had some pretty terrible restrictions compared to the rest of the world, makes china look like they value their citizens freedom.

Well....they had to do something to slow the spread. I'm not really sure what to say. I just can't really buy the fact that measures being taken to protect people is a bad thing. Quite honestly, if nothing was done anywhere, it's a different discussion. People ought to take their own feelings out of things for a change.

I cant agree on "something to *slow* the spread. If the action was directed towards true eradication, that would be reasonable. But slowing it for 1.5 years at this point? Thats just destroying peoples lives.

And who benefits? Yes im aware mortality isnt everything, but lets assume the data provided here is accurate and in good faith, point to a stable civilization that prioritizes its older peoples absolute safety over the long term consequences of the younger generation? It seems morally bankrupt and simply a stupid thing to "save" 85 year old grandma by destroying most small buisnesses and taking an already socially stunted and limited 18-30 year old population and isolating them from all meaningful interaction.
It is essentially a theft of life and wellbeing of future generations by the oldest generations still alive. This i am NOT on board with.

Again, assuming the goal to be eradication, instituting short term absolutley draconian measures would be objectionable but sane. But thats not what has happened.

The goal is eradication. It isn't going to be a quick process brother. You gotta crawl before you walk.

The goal is clearly NOT about eradication, not a single place outside of new zealand acted quickly or decisively enough to bring that about when it was manageable, and they're a small island nation.
Nowhere else in the world has had any slate of remedies that even if fully enacted could do anything but slow spread.

The politicians from the start have NEVER been interested in anything other than looking good enough to get re-elected and they certainly had no interest in using powers they had to eradicate because a 5th grader could have poked holes in every single one of their strategies

Just for some additional context, the Flu has been around now for 2,500 years. If we can't even eradicate that, then how will we eradicate the Shanghai Shivers?

Let's be honest here, Corona isn't going anywhere.
