Facebook is listening in and WATCHING as well. On my break, opened fridge and got out a bottle of Tropicana OJ... 3 minutes later there is the ad on my Facebook page... coincidence? I think not! :-(

Hmmmm....software that tracks shipping lanes and doesn't obey commands? Nothing fishy going on move along. A lot of information can be extrapolated from that information.

20 year tech here with zero apps on my phone....zero. My battery out lives my wifes by days....she can't get through 1 day.

I remember the first flashlight app (virus) and I remember when forward facing cams started popping up on laptops....hacked immediately.

GPS for GPS... brain and memory for everything else IMO.

Information is power. I laugh every time I hear a trucker ask "how's the traffic at such and such?" or "is the chain restriction up on Donner?" or "is I-80 still closed at Cheyenne?" , and what they typically get is a response from someone who doesn't know, or exaggerates, or has no sense of what's bad or good [for others], or the information for the area in question is old and no longer meaningful or accurate.

Paper publications simply can't keep up with new development of trucker related businesses. And for the guys who roam coast to coast as opposed to strictly operate in their own little local region, apps and internet access to sites that provide accurate and current information about unfamiliar areas is critical.

It just feels weird that an app monitors your every move. Also battery drain is very significant with location always being used. I love the app, but will probably switch to something else

Yes, but that technology had it's own set of inherent problems

Well, personally, I leave it up 24/7 on a tablet so it makes no difference to me. I don't really care what they might do with the data. What they have pales in comparison to Google. If I actually wanted no one to know where I was I wouldn't be using anything connected to the internet nor cellular networks.

According to truckerpath every way station on my route home is closed. So I can do a bandit run. 1160 miles no problem. Lol
