Huh, I'd never think a driver could make themselves a lasagna in their truck.

I start school in April. Plan on make my own MRE's during home time (or hire my neice to make 'em). Recipes call for dried, freeze dried or shelf staple ingredients; all combined in a 1 quart freezer bag (and roll-up for packing). Just add hot (close to boiling) water to rehydrate. Eat out of freezer bag, pot or bowl. Main source: Recipes. Scroll down to FBC and One Pot Meals, see Breakfast too.

TIP: Buy ingredients for just 7 dishes at a time. 1 different meal each day of the week x 3 to 4 weeks at a time (before re-upping). Keep your favs and replace your least favs. My plan is to I.D. top 14 and stick with those (mostly; stock ingredients in the pantry) Oh!!! and bags of ready salad (dress and eat out of the bag) fruits, nuts and vegetables; from Walmart (or wherever), every chance you get.

    Chicken Mushroom Rice
    Ingredients
    • 1 1⁄2 c instant rice
    • 1⁄4 c crumbled dried mushrooms
    • 2 T shelf stable parmesan cheese
    • 2 t low sodium chicken bouillon
    • 1 t dried thyme
    • 1⁄4 t ground black pepper
    • 1 pk 7 ounce chicken breast
    • 1 1⁄2 c water
    Instructions
    1. At home in a quart freezer or sandwich bag pack the dry ingredients. Pack the chicken with the bag.
    2. Add the chicken with broth and 1½ cups near boiling water. Stir well, seal tightly and put in a cozy for 15 minutes.

Drink water. The best fluid for your body.
Pack your cooler with frozen bottles of water. No explanation needed.
Some Vegetables will last 3-5 days.
Plenty of canned goods. You can eat cold. Not as tasty, but it is still food.
Walking, squats, pushups. Exercises you can do anywhere.
    Resistance straps, bungees.
    Good luck.

Bringing your groceries and cooking in the truck are for some driver and not for others. If you would starve before you would make a sandwich at home, don't plan on cooking your meals in the truck.

Youtube search for rice cooker recipes, slow cooker recipes, anything you can think of. It's your food, put as much or as little effort as you decide. There is no excuse for having to eat fast food or truck stop food, not a good excuse anyway.

Im a novice when it comes to trail cooking. I never even heard of 'shelf stable' before. Which makes me wonder....I'm looking at that recipe and its calling for chicken breast. Now, would that mean cook up the breast in a frying pan first, then make the recipe?
