I'm not a driver yet but i rather drive at night too in the summer, spring and fall but not in the winter. I will switch to driving days in the winter. Driving in snow, sleet and possibly hitting black ice at night no thanks.

I deliver bulk cement at night so it's ready for the mixer drivers working banker hours when the sun rises.
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Reefer & LTL do a lot at night. I do a lot of all night driving, due to the fact a lot of grocery distribution centers move a lot of their freight at night. As far as LTL, I'm constantly passing or being passed by FEDEX, UPS, Old Dominican, and Este, pulling doubles or triples late at night. As far as winter driving it is a good ideal to shut down at night because of black ice. I-80 in Wyoming, Nebraska, western part of Iowa will shut down at a drop of hat around December, thru March.

I do 95% of my work at night between 7pm and 7am. Pulling dry bulk tanker. Around here, the runs I do in 12 hours take 14 in the daytime.
Winter? Yeah, I've been stuck a time or two in the middle of nowhere. But I'd much rather be stuck in the middle of nowhere by myself, at night, than out with the crazy's during the daytime.Air Cooled and G13Tomcat Thank this.
