I wouldn't use such a broad brush to paint Penske or any of its customers. That being said, I did have very negative experiences with Penske Logistics (GM Parts Distribution Center in Charlotte, NC - Ft. Mill, SC) and also with a pharmaceutical company (Fresenius Medical Care) that leased Penske equipment.

All of the operations were eat up with ,what we now call WOKE. Marginally qualified or just straight unqualified people holding positions where 'job performance' was routinely redefined according to so called 'diversity, inclusion and equity'. People who routinely committed criminal acts were not fired and arrested, but sent to 'retraining at full pay' while those who complained were fired. Sadly, the Penske facilities involved were just as bad.

The GM Parts Operation shut down to no one's surprise - a 'mercy death' if there ever was one. Fresenius closed its Charlotte operation and moved it across the border to Rock Hill, SC and turned their trucking operation into TruBlu Logistics. Fortunately, I've known people who have worked for Penske Logistics in different venues, speaking highly of Penske overall.

Just two educational 'speed bumps' in my lengthy trucking career, now retired. :)

It is not Pensky's fault that these companies leasing equipment do not make time to maintain their trucks. Penske requires them to perform maintenance. The company is constantly chasing new loads after each delivery. They do not want to schedule scheduled maintenance. I work for money companies that have never done anything to the truck because they simply don't care and don't want to spend the money and take a break to fix anything.
