Most I've seen is out 7-14 days and home 7 days.

No OTR truck can sit idle for 2 weeks. The company loses money even if it outright owns the truck. Because when it's not rolling it's not making money. If the truck is leased it's even worse.

Look at Schneider's "Home Run" programs (I think that's what they call it .. could be called something similar). And I think Roehl and perhaps a few others offer similar programs, but you'll have to be ok with "sharing" a truck with others and/or slip seating and will have to have a terminal nearby or at least a co-partner that lives near you.

Boy howdy, that's a great question to ask BEFORE you get out there. Whatever interval you want for home time you will have a better chance of getting it if you plan to get routed to a terminal and catch an outbound and get dropped off. Then when you're ready to come back you catch another ride back to the terminal. You're more likely to get your request if you can do it this way, not deadheading as if fuel doesn't cost $4 a gallon.

Lots of companies hire grads, no problem, they want you rested and safe but they have to make a profit.

Check Roehl. You will be slip seating, but they have several possibilities for additional home time; at least on their flat bed side.

I believe I've heard of this kind of hometime with Knight as well.

Seems like a waste to me though. You've got so much money saved up you only feel like working half the month..? Some companies offer 14 on 7 off.

There are plenty of people who are "semi-retired" or have family commitments and means that require or lend themselves to not working like a slave 12 months/year. More power to them.
