in EU we dont have lot of big fire trucks, big ones are for export mainly.
MB offer specialized chassis for fire trucks 16,5-37k gvw 4x2 and 4x4. But only as E6 and they are not really competitive in price. can cost 60% more than cheap brands with old emission engines.

i think yes, small trucks MB. same thing with export, scania is very popular in SE asia. MB middle east and china. I would say over 90% bodybuilded EU fire trucks for china are MB

as for fire trucks scania P is very low entrance is below 4ft.
Scania have factory made crew cabs, MB stopped to make crewcab for larger trucks. in recent time fire bodybuilders make their own cab integrated into body that stays on frame when main cab is tilted.
MB used to be almost only choice in airport fire trucks. new MB cant engage sandwich PTO (between engine and gearbox) while driving which is required for this app, so this days last airport fire trucks were delivered, option is maybe custom PTO, allison gearbox or separate engine. Volvo give insane low prices as everywhere else. MB with crew cab 600+hp, AMT, cost 50% than Volvo 540hp with powertronic 6speed automatic gearbox 6x6 and crew cab.

scania had interesting vehicle before, 550hp industrial high rev engine in airport fire truck. with max power from 1700-2300rpm. now they fit normal truck engine. scania prices are about +10% comparing to MB.

    3 differnt floor hights.
    G
    R
    S
G being lowest and having doghouse
    R iirc has a hump,not a real doghouse
    S is flatfloor.

I cannot say it enough but our modern EU COE have nothing to compare with in the world.
The designs off the US COE's are sooooo old that it is like comparing a modelT Ford to a modern Mustang.;)
