Too much trucks, and it's possible to jump the queue even if you have just arrived by paying "tradition" so if you don't want to pay, you will wait for weeks.

    The border is Zabajkalsk. Russia-China

daf105paccar, Oxbow and 98989 Thank this.

Last week, a video from the Chinese-Russian border circulated the world, where drivers wait up to a month to drive or pick up a trailer. Fights among queuers were also mentioned, as well as corruption spreading among the Russian border services. On the other hand, how much can a driver who works in such extreme conditions earn? The answer to this question has just been provided by the Belarusian media.

A driver from Minsk spoke in an article by the automotive magazine "Avtobiznes". employed in a very large Belarusian company. The carrier is to register its trucks in Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, serving, inter alia, routes connecting the European Union with China. Alexander from Minsk decided to work on EU-Chinese trips and that is why he was assigned to a truck under registrations from Kazakhstan. When he started this job, everything looked really attractive - he was going to have a monthly "circle" between Europe and China, and then go home for a month. So he was supposed to be at home more often than many drivers driving only around the EU, for example in Polish companies. As the driver said, he was encouraged by the financial conditions: EUR 75 per day in the European Union, EUR 55 in Belarus, Russia or Kazakhstan, and EUR 25 for each day of standing at the Chinese border. However, when it came to reality, everything stopped looking so rosy.

A month on the road turned out to be insufficient to do this job. Often two or even three months are needed, which of course is associated with queues at the Chinese border. One of Aleksander's colleagues waited 42 days for the Chinese reloading of a trailer! This also means that the daily wages may be dominated by those of 25 euros, largely absorbed by the cost of living. The Belarusian also complains that European-Chinese transport requires work for two. As he claims, he only travels around the European Union and Belarus on one tachograph card. When, however, it passes the Belarusian-Russian border in Krasnaya Gorka, a two-card ride is required. Even 5000 kilometers are traveled in 4-5 days to stand in the new line to the border as quickly as possible.
