Can someone explain to me why when browsing truckpaper, Cummins powered trucks, most of them are rebuild with 400k miles? Same with transmission?

haven’t heard from 98989 in a long time…..

My Paccar salesman told me just the other day that one should plan on rebuilding a new truck engine at 500,000 miles. If it lasts longer your lucky….

The transmission I haven’t heard that …..

I know a guy with a newish Peterbilt

600,000 on it now. First it blew a turbo and filled dpf with oil and ruined all after treatment. Now it’s dropped a liner and pushing coolant….and he takes care of his stuff….
