Trucking software question

I created a small spreadsheet from scratch with forumlas to help him calculate how much he is going to make at the end of each week. I used simple formulas to calculate fuel mileage, insurance, lease, fuel costs, etc. I plan on using Visual Basic to have a better GUI and Access to store the info. I would like to develop the program to do more but I don't know everything about trucking just yet to incorporate everything that one does for documentation. I thought it would be cool to create a small program to that figures out how much you can expect get at the end of the week.
