It’s a company and can only idle at 900 rpm or Detroit sets them up like that on the emission trucks. I had S60 back in the day those could idle1,000 if you wanted.
Trucks gelling up in the winter, what is the solution?

That’s true but people like to say it’s -40F or some crazy number when that the wind effect on your body if outside. The coolant in truck is rated for abut -30 or something actually outside temperature. So if people go by wind chill your putting anti gel in truck when it’s not needed or idling truck more then needed.4wayflashers Thanks this.

Wind chill had long been misunderstood, but the Weather-tainment industry has exacerbated the problem. They could easily spread the truth (it's simply a measure of heat loss rate) but that doesn't terrorize viewers and induce them to keep watching.Last edited: Jan 15, 2024
Goodysnap, Freddy57, Crude Truckin' and 11 others Thank this. -
What happens when these fuel stops double the treatment and your company tells you to add two bottles of antigel no matter what? That would be the equivalent of dumping four bottles of antigel in each tank.
gentleroger Thanks this. -
Suppliers will never double dose so I wouldn’t worry about it…..
I’ve been told that eventually if you put to much in the fuel gels just because. But that’s lunch counter talkJC1971 Thanks this. -
I had a cat engine talk to me at the lunch counter once. Doubled up and the cat decided to double down.

Im pretty sure you will get worser fuel economy but I dont think it will hurt anything besides that.

Talking to a fuel delivery guy at pilot he said the driver adds the stuff directly into the big underground tanks after they unload the fuel into it.
