I have the RND-710. It has the same routes as the Rand McNally paper atlas.

Not only that, the RND GPS' even provide the page numbers of where destinations can be found in the Atlas.

They have a lot of signs for the parkways clearly labeled NO TRUCKS or NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES.unfortunately, there is too many ill-trained or completely brainless people in the industry. In north tonawanda, NY there is a bridge clearly marked 11' with a bunch of signs, a marked detour route for trucks, and flashing lights, yet at least 1 truck a week runs into it, and the driver claims their GPS told them to take that route. I guess some people are too lazy or stupid to read a trucker's atlas and PLAN the route they are going to take, or maybe calling the shipping & receiving people at the customer's location, or even calling state/local police for information??? If you make a wrong turn, and you come up to that low of a bridge, then common sense would tell you to STOP. It also sounds like these POS driving schools like swift, schneider, millis or werner arent teaching the students very much, or taking in people who are so deficient in brains they shouldn't even be trusted with a bicycle.

Wow, thank you all for the comments and opinions on this! It is important to get different points of view on things like this. My hope is that some trucking companies will see this post, and the article mentioned by one of the posters.... this awareness is what will prevent accidents. We'll see what else can be done, whether it be media attention, pushing the issue with local government here, or what have you.

FYI there was another incident today:

Scottcp36 I was on my way down the NJTP when I heard it on 1010. Sounds like it was a solid hit.
