exactly that reason I'd often disobey the signs... 4 wheelers are gonna make dangerous right-hand passes if I obey the sign, it increases the stress & chaos, so might as well just stay right and if a cop has a problem with it, well let the judge decide whether my safety concerns are legit or not.
That's norm in that area.Back in 94 I got burned in Valdosta Ga when traffic suddenly stopped and I darted into the left lane to avoid an accident...Officer was an ####.Cost me $550.00 to beat him in court.
One time in Atlanta I had a choice. Bust the 85 downtown or run three lanes off. I stopped dead. Cars and trucks piled around me. When the three lanes took off I darted across for that ramp out onto the beltway. It worked out that time. But I told Dispatch not to send me back for 6 months. Why not? Don't worry about it, its all over and no one got fined or hurt that time. Oh? Do tell... Oh no. Not me. It didnt happen.
I drive through there 4 times a day 5 days a week and there are always 1 to 2 trucks pulled over. I assume it’s a double whammy ticket, 65 in a 55 construction zone, and driving in the right lane. I assume the 65 because I’m sure I’m the only driver doing the speed limit between Boise, ID and Hermiston, OR. Gotta love being paid hourly and construction slowdowns
“In the old days we took guys like that outback and beat them with the fire hose, now you’ve got you #### unions.” But, cap you know I’m not a pro union guy”
I do the speed limit through construction zones too. Double fines and points are enough incentive to slow me down. Yes, probably a double whammy ticket. I respect the road construction crews that work in the danger zone- on our roads. I’m amazed by drivers that just ignore the limits and barrel through.[/QUOTE]
