I am trying to get a job, and most of the companies I want to go to don't have any terminals or lots in my home town.
I live in a city and the closest place I could park is a truck stop about 4 miles from my home (Wild Wild West, in Vegas).
Do the truckstops care if you leave your truck for 3-4 days on hometime,
or do you have to register them and pay a fee for extended parking?
Also, anyone who has any other suggestions for hometime parking in Las Vegas, I would love to hear from you.

I would go to the truck stop and talk directly to the manager myself.

It varies from one to another- some allow it for free, some want you to pay, some don't allow it at all. You would have to ask at the truck stop to know for sure. Plus, ask your company as well. Some companies don't like their equipment sitting unattended at truck stops.
As for other options, check with local repair shops to see if they have extra parking. Also, there are drop lots in North Las Vegas that might let you park there. I'm sure they would charge you, but it would be secure. Do some Googling and see what you come up with.Russjac Thanks this. -
I would be worried about someone breaking into your truck. That's a rough area.Russjac Thanks this.

I have had success parking at a tow truck company yard. Plenty of room and security. For a small fee of course...

Some companies will help you find a spot to park a truck..usually at a shipper they have a good relationship with and hd security...most frown on leaving them at truckstops as they are considered unsecure locations

If you are a regular customer of a certain truck stop, then they may work with you for parking. However, if your truck is left unattended for a long period of time, do not expect it to be in perfect condition when you go to it again. It may be crashed into, broken into, or jacked up and the wheels gone.
Try a tow yard near you, pay a fee. Many trucking companies DO NOT reimburse you for parking expenses however.Russjac Thanks this. -
that is always a concern of mine ,when looking at a company. where to park. can't park in the "hood", illegal for commercial vehicle. wouldn't want to leave it at a truck stop a few days, don't trust people.

Most drivers pay a monthly fee to park in a secured yard. Also like the other guys said, most companies won't let you leave their truck at a truck stop. Especially if you are under a load. I hate leaving my truck at the truck stop while I take a shower! Never know who's going to break into it or if your bumper is going to be there when you get back!

Since I work for an o/o, they have space leased at a lot at another small trucking company. One of the benefits is that when we need a tire changed, their mechanic will do it for next to nothing.
The lot is about 20 min from my house.
