    Just an FYI, Q is a number that is derived not from the resonant frequency with the antenna but one close to it. Because it is a measure of reactance, resistance and the rate of change towards resonance of the antenna, th number can indicate the bandwidth and other factors involved with good receive and transmit.

    Yes the less the antenna has to used any loading to become resonant, then the lower the Q and the more radiation is transmitted.

    So a top loaded antenna with a small bit of whip is better than a bottom loaded antenna with a long whip when it comes to the Q factor.

    There are exceptions to this, depending on the frequency and other factors involved like antenna design.

    There is more surface area to transmit and receive signals.
