People need to just STOP it with the "yearly pay".....just stop it. NOBODY....and I mean NOBODY lives on a "yearly" income (except maybe the obnouxiously rich).
Everybody I know pays their bills each MONTH. And in todays economy....most people are living week to week.
What you mean to say is: $673.00 to $730.00 a week GROSS. Minus 20% taxes, equals $538.00 to $584.00 per week NET. Minus $100.00 to $150.00 per week road (living) expenses equals just about $400.00 a week take home.
$400.00 a week devided by 70 hours worked (at the MINIMUM) equals $5.71 an hour.
CONGRADULATIONS!!!! You are making minimum wage for the year 1999!

Everybody can go ahead and kid themselves with "yearly income".....or they can look at the cold hard facts that is math.

And your math makes some huge assumptions, based upon what you spend.
Show me any industry that starts an inexperienced, untrained person at $30,000 a year? or $400 per week take home? Minimum wage is a government feel good, and has no real world applications.

    Corporal_Clegg and bayougirl Thank this.

So, your saying that the guy that works at the factory down the street for minimum wage has NO living expenses? He doesnt spend money on gas to get back and forth to work? He doesnt buy food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and a few bears with the guys after work? etc etc etc ....So now you subtract out those expenses and he is making far LESS than minimum wage!

Just how obnoxious do you need to be to be considered rich?
Or in other words, how rich do you need to be before you're obnoxious?
    (I might already qualify!)

Most insurance companies require two years experience before they will allow the carrier to hire a driver. Best figure two years with that starter company.

Got a few questions about Stevens. What kind of miles are you getting average? Do they use apus on their trucks? Last but not least what are they speed limiting the trucks to?
