I want to add some clarifications to other posters:
AFAIK, Canada does NOT "tax American products up the wazoo", just like we do not tax Canadian products up the same. The reasons for installing tariffs on Canada are purely political. Widen your news feed, and you will soon find out the true reasons. Enacting capricious tariffs will not "build our economy on sound ground".

Wow, you are quite misinformed if you are referring to Canada. Lower wages, in CANADA???? Like WHERE? "Cost effective" might have SOME truth, as like in the auto industry, where models popular in Canada seem to be more often MADE in Canada to minimize shipping costs. Canada is a fairly big market, and large companies that sell a good percentage in Canada will then consider moving that amount of manufacturing up there to avoid the tariffs. Think cereal brands, canned goods, meats, building supplies, etc. It used to be cheaper for Canadians to buy American things, but with the tariffs that will no longer be the case. Forty years of NAFTA trade regulations down the toilet. Once again, Canada is NOT Mexico.

Also, a "lessor" is a person who takes out a lease. You meant "lower" cost. Is English your mother tongue?

No need for the insults.. I'm Canadian and wages are higher in some sectors yet with the exchange r rates currently being $1.45 CAD to $1 usd it's more cost effective for American companies to build things in Canada or build in Canada so this will make the prices increase for the overall product when the consumer purchases in American from inflation. Now, Trudeau put did counter tarrifs both sides when the citizens of either country will fell. Stop trying to play a keyboard warrior because everyone knows it's a different story face to face in the real world when trying to insult individuals online.

Everyone seems to forget the mass exodus of manufacturing from the USA 2001-2009 under president Bush.
1/3 of US manufacturing jobs disappeared during that timeframe.
I remember discussing how PPG glass left the us. Now most of vehicle glass is from China or Korea.
    Funny how things come around.

Been doing a lot of research since November on this whole Fentanyl thing, and I must say its pretty shocking. Canada apparently is known around the world, as the fentanyl, money laundering and terrorist capital. The entire Fentanyl manufacturing and distribution world wide network, is run out of Toronto. The money laundering capital of the world is Vancouver. A relative in CBSA, directed me to this guys YouTube channel, as he does a solid job of summarizing everything I've been looking up. Also my family in CBSA said its all accurate, and anyone in the CBSA or RCMP who brings it up, gets run off (or worse). I also just watched an interview with 20+ year CBSA veteran (and CAF Veteran) Luc Sabourin, who has been trying to expose the corruption for years, and now has Cartels, and other criminal and political elements targeting him. Wild stuff.

I've been saying it a while now. Canada is as or more corrupt than America. Nobody suspects it because Canadians are just so nice lol.

This town is literally a blink and you miss it place. Hasn't grown or changed at all in 30+ years.

Trade balance is the key. A county's trade balance is between how much it consumes to how much it produces. I'm sure the Usa consumes more than it produces oppose to Canada lesser population of 12% per capita (Gotta make sure there's no typos on here before the geek squad analysis it thoroughly for any discrepancies trying to place belligerent comments). Supply & Demand plays a huge roll with this North American tariff war. However, per capita is an issue when looking at Canada vs. The Usa. (40 Million vs. 335 Million) ratio 1:8.4 Overall, there is no comparison and the bigger bank account talks when regarding GDP. As a Canadian we need to really consider how this will play out with Longevity. Electricity, Fuel, etc.. is a food export however holding back on it wouldn't help Canada. Now that Premier Ford wants to pull American Booze on the shelves in Ontario just leave us in a deficit of because isn't that alcohol paid for already? Ford tells LCBO to pull U.S. booze from shelves | Globalnews.ca Things are starting to get ridiculous if you ask me.
