Well, I got stopped and updated the card info from my laptop... "You cannot use a credit card to complete this transaction."
Lol, I don't leave any money in the bank account it's tied to, so Friday it will be.
"Paypal... When it absolutely, positively has to be there next week sometime."

I can appreciate your frustrations, but it's not that big of a deal.

Way to go Brian!!!!!, you not only made truck drivers look good, but you also let them know we are human to an we care!!!! GREAT JOB!
teddy_bear6506, panhandleswife, Scarecrow03 and 3 others Thank this. -
So did FEMA let you unload at the location of your choice? Or do the items need to be approved in committee and be unloaded by government employees with top secret clearance?LaKitten and Scarecrow03 Thank this.

Landshark, yeah no drivers were killed at that Petro luckily. Trucks were tossed around. I think it was like 13 locals got killed.
Someone mentioned Henegar, AL. I drove for Storey Trucking out of Henegar. There might be 5 businesses at one intersection. Hardly a focal point. I'm sure Storey Trucking is covering that. Mainly farmers there.
I know besides the others mentioned, Cullman, AL got hit hard. So did Dunlap, TN. We have one member from there. Cleveland, TN got hit hard also.
I've done plenty of hurricane reliefs. The first thing that happens is FEMA pays for trucking companies to bring water in. The next step is the groceries and ice start coming.
The main thing outsiders could do is help with the miscellaneous stuff like clothes, furniture, diapers, blankets and stuff like that. Donations to the Red Cross help tremendously. You could even contact them and offer your services.LaKitten Thanks this. -
You couldn't be further off base with your assessment of how Fema works. Fema just arrived on the scene last night, 6 days later.
It is the grassroots efforts of people like us that have gotten the supplies to the people in need for nearly a week before fema decided to show their butts up and screw everything up.
These people have essentially been on their own for the past five or six days and have had to fend for themselves.
I am also glad that your whole laid back attitude towards things like how the almighty government will take care of these people, how Henagar, AL is just a bunch of farmers who will be fine, and how you can decide who and where should be a focal point, works for you. I for one have a completely different attitude about things and how they will get done.dino6960, panhandleswife, lighthouse74 and 3 others Thank this. -
Well go save the world. You seem to know it all. I've run with many truckers nonstop 2-3 days in a row running supplies the day after. I guess we were just hauling air. You don't rebuild a city overnight.
-
So is FEMA dictating what supplies will go where? Or who gets in and who doesn't?
I'm very interested to know if our gooberment is pulling the same crap they did during Katrina.LaKitten Thanks this. -
Yep, they are trying to. We have discovered that letters from the county EMA's prove quite helpful though.lilillill, panhandlepat, LaKitten and 1 other person Thank this.

Well good for you little buddy.dino6960 Thanks this.
