It's all relative. To some guys on here first year driver pay seems like beans. To me if I run well I can easily double my current salary and I of course would love that that since I have no college degree.

I am pretty sure he was being sarcastic. Company recruiters will promise a lot of impossible things

you go thru a 3 week course
learn just enough to get a license
how much of that will you remember 3 months later

reimbursement is like buying a car they either give you more for a trade in or knock of more of list price
they get the same money either way

if a trucking company reimburses your tuition all they do is give you less cpm

    chris886 and 123456 Thank this.

If you wait too long, you'll have to do the school all over again. Once you get that cdl, get a job pronto.

    Correct.

Nothing more than a recruitment tool.

Only true if you went to a company school.

I paid for my own schooling and tuition reimbursement was added to check. Cents per mile was the same for me and others not getting reimbursement.

Where do people get these ideas? Companies will pay an extra few thousand to a driver over a year or two because they need drivers. Nobody will pay you a higher CPM if you pay for your own CDL. Company sponsored schools are simply a way for companies to get the drivers they need.

You might as well say that if a trucking company provides health care, all they do is give you less CPM...
