He needs talk back for the same reason I need an infrared laser on my truck.
And yet when this was said in another forum, someone just had to ask, "Why do you need a laser on your truck?"
The next person, who was very wise, said: "The question should be, why you do NOT need one?"

It's got to be a conspiracy.

Everyone knows talkback and invisible lasers counteract the effects of load board mind control rays.

I wholeheartely agree. That's why I'm pulsing wideband RF from 50 kHz to 10 gHz to an Aegis-inspired phased antenna array as I go down the road. I want to make sure I can block those AI electronic billboards that read the i.f. in my good times radio to know what channel I'm listening to and then tailor the ads they display to my listening preferences. I mean, just cuz I listen to classical music, how many Bugatti Veyrons can a guy own, anyway?
    I shudder to think.
People tell me it looks odd, but it works for me.

Well!, fisrt of all, I believe I asked the OP this question, But!, If your losing sleep over this, I was just wondering?, Maybe he's new to the CB word, and Someone might be filing his head with crap, that his CB has to have talk back for some reason or another, I have it on my CB and do like it, But!, It's not a "must have", just a "would like to have", Just like some "so called" CB shops selling the "SUPERTUNE", Load of crap

If I was losing sleep over it I would have said more than one short line on the other page. If you want to make a big deal out of it fine by me. I have seen in hundreds of posts a steady general trend of ragging everyone for any type of mods to a CB here. He merely asked how to get talk back, which is not an open to being questioned as to why he needs it. Your post of nothing but an interrogation as to why he needs it is intrinsically unhelpful in answering the question as to how to get it. Easily seen in a negative light by others given the overall mindset by many here about any mods being done. The losing sleep comment further indicates a taking of offense by you and an escalation of overall negativity to the conversation. Especially when combined with the supertune is a load of crap comment which reinforces further my premise that the questioning in lieu of a helpful answer about how to get talkback appeared negative. To call it a load of crap in such general terms conveys no useful information other than a mindset of overall negativity quite simply because you did not specify what the said 'supertune' consists of nor at what cost. One could say adding an 80 watt stinger amp inside is a 'supertune' so the statement it is crap is in error. If the goal is a stronger signal the stinger does this. So what makes it 'crap'? Especially when no information is provided as to what the supertune consists of. If you are saying paying 40 to get a diode clipped and a coil bent is crap well I could agree. To say any work at all to improve the performance is 'crap' then I do not agree. You need to be more specific since you provided insufficient data for a meaningful response.

enclosed trailer = mounting location for phased array. It's not unreasonable at all. Who knows what's hidden behind the non-metallic trailer bodies out there.. fiberglass tractor bodies..

There was a guy in Oklahoma with a 4-wheeler cargo van who had mounted a microwave oven magnetron and stub tuned waveguide to the inside of the body on each side with a fiberglass plate over the holes. He reportedly didn't like being annoyed with booming rap music at traffic lights. Maybe an urban legend who knows, but I see no reason it wouldn't work enough of the time to make a difference.
