Lol I was going to say it needs tuning aswell, maybe he needs a swr meter instead of using the built in one, or maybe theres to.much chorme on the.radio and its interfering with the swr readings.

 

I believe there is an adjustment on that light that should be re-adjusted when the radio is tuned up. If somebody tuned your radio and didn't adjust that, I would question how good my tune is. (provided I knew my SWR was good!)

Also, never trust the built in SWR meter. If you compare its reading to a real SWR meter and use it as a reference, that will work. But, check your SWR with a proper meter upon installation!!

 

This is a common occurrence with a radio that has been "peaked & tuned" (hacked).The meter is probably measuring the harmonic frequencies.
