i think it's the no muffler deal. there's no noise supression now. so the sound from the turbo is basically resonating through the hollow exhaust pipes.
he did say he took the muffler off.

ok tested the air to air today from the turbo through to the intake and it held 40 psi of pressure for 15 minutes with no leak down. So it isn't that. the only thing I can think of is it's pulling so much air that I'm hearing it sucking the air through the breathers. Turbo looks good with both housing off. so who knows lol. thanks to all that tried to help
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
Could be a crack in the air/air cooler....id pull the boots back off and do a pressure test on that. easy to make a rig with some pvc fittings and rubber caps.

Is this an externally gated turbo?
-
I believe it is. It's a stage 2 Haney special so if he see's this he could probably say for sure. I'm going to be changing the intake gasket tomorrow as I think that is the problem I'm having. Hopefully it is and it will fix it. When pulling a hill people say it sounds like I got a chain dragging or something (lol). Although I don't think that's funny but it is. So will post as soon as I'm done changing it and testing it out will let you know.

Just wondering what type of gate and if it is externally gated, with an open outlet, if you dont have a bad waste gate. ??

Bump.
HeavyPete, any updates? -
I would try to change the belt.. My truck was making a funny noise under load, change the belt and the noise went away.
