Turned up 2 pots on my 1993 Cobra 29 LTD Classic

Ok what did that mean

 

I GOT A COBRA 29 LTD CLASSIC... PEAKED N TUNED BIGGER FINAL PUT IN AND ITS ABOUT 45 WATTS. NOTHING COMPARED TO THOSE BIGGER SIDE BAND 10m RADIOS!

 

I never seen a stock Cobra that was peaked do 35 watts.......maybe 20 at best.
Now my Galaxy will do 135 PEP on the Bird meter. But it has 4 finals.

 

Since my original post in 2011.
I've set up a bench and taken up tinkering with cb and 10 meter radios.
Replacing shorted parts.
Upgrading parts to lower the static caused by the manufacturer's lower quality parts.
Repairing burnt traces in the main circuit board...
I've worked on 43 radios total. So I'm just getting warmed up.
I have not been able to turn any of these radios up past 18 - 22 watts as a stock radio.
On average, closer to 18 watts.
Any wattage above 18 - 22 watts, I have had to upgrade the finals.
I use a Galaxy DX 949.
