Turning Radius?

If welding the stops in place fully extended would stop all the ignorant u-turns we see nowadays, I'd be all for it!

 

It's a temptation, that's for sure. We run T800s and they'll practically bite themselves on the butt they turn so sharp. It's always fun to watch somebody else with a different model truck trying to run a switchback or just get turned around on flat ground after one of our guys does it.

 

Do you tell them “we get trucks in here all the time” ?

 

The truck manufacturers talk in terms of wheel cut angle. There's so many variations in wheelbase that they don't publish a turning radius. It is assumed that if that is a critical Factor, the guy ordering the truck already knows what wheelbase he needs based on the wheel cut. It's really not that hard to calculate

 

Nah, much as I've tried I can't say it with a straight face. Never had much luck playing poker, either.

 

Yup, then if he's handy or has a mechanic who understands the problem, he grabs a couple of wrenchs and solves the problem to his liking.

 

An individual owner? A few might. The guy who orders trucks for a fleet? You can bet they know.
