Lets please stop with the bickering guy's.
I am sure the bickering isn't gonna help to answer the OP's question.

I insist that we all post with respect towards one another.

    Admin and Lilbit Thank this.

maybe the trainer meant at that specific light he couldnt, because of traffic flow and speed,or pedestrian crosswalking--because he couldnt do it quick enough or safe enough
no need to get in squirting contest,as we all know that you can make a right turn on red after coming to a stop

    Wierd.

I was led to believe that right turn on red for a truck was illegal. Learned that in CDL school in Mexifornia back in 07, and also had that pounded into us at TMC orientation in 07. Guess they were wrong. I still wont do it though.

one can make a right hand turn on red when

It is legal to do, safe to complete the manuver, you have enough time and space to make said turn

Correct, there are still places where right on red is NOT the law.

Well, if it's not law, and regardless of whether or not the company requires it, I won't turn right on red in a truck ever. Just not gonna happen with me. I've never been late on a load because of that either.
