maybe the trainer meant at that specific light he couldnt,because of traffic flow and speed,or pedestrian crosswalking--because he couldnt do it quick enough or safe enough

Wierd.
I was led to believe that right turn on red for a truck was illegal. Learned that in CDL school in Mexifornia back in 07, and also had that pounded into us at TMC orientation in 07. Guess they were wrong. I still wont do it though. -

Correct, there are still places where right on red is NOT the law.

Well, if it's not law, and regardless of whether or not the company requires it, I won't turn right on red in a truck ever. Just not gonna happen with me. I've never been late on a load because of that either. -
