Do I want? Heck no! At this point its just another revenue generator for the government.
Do I have one? Yup... not an option when you're pulling for Prime.

The fee for an escort in Tampa was $55. Thats ridiculous.

Is the passport to go into Canada and if so what if you have had a DUI. The passport would be no good to you because of Canada rules am i correct or wrong. Or is there a way you can go into Canada illegal with a DUI
-
-
Passport is to get back into the United States. You can get a passport if have a DUI, that is not a perimeter the Department of State looks for to issue a passport. The Department of State does identity verification to issue a passport.

It also costs you a few bucks less to get the TWIC if you have hazmat, i went in with hazmat, and as its the same background check as a TWIC (both go through TSA) they charge a little less.
-
But consider this if you link TWIC to your hazmat, it expires with your hazmat certification. So if you go with the 105.25 option and your Hazmat expires next year you'll have to renew. If you do the 132.50 option will last the five years.

If you do not have a TWIC (which stands for Transportation Worker's Identification Card, so you don't have to say TWIC Card) or Passport when you arrive for orientation, they WILL make sure you have one of each at least applied for before you finish orientation. It is part of the orientation schedule. They actually load up shuttles and take everyone to the PO in Springfield to get this done. It is very convenient, and they arrange to take the fees out of your weekly settlements in small payments so you don't have to fork out the cash. Doing it at the terminal makes so much more sense for the reasons IronPony pointed out. You will get a message when your TWIC is in and they will route you back to Springfield to get the card. They are very easy to get.
DUIs and Canada... ask the recruiter. This is a constantly evolving thing. DUI is a felony in Canada, and if one has a felony on his/her record Canada does not like you to be there. -
Well started orientation in salt lake today, they do not do twic or passport. They're supposed to route through Springfield, Mo to get taken care of. So fyi if you want Prime to advance you money to do it they'll route you you otherwise take care of it before you come to salt.lake.
