TWIC stands for "transportation workers identification card". It is only a background check and ID to allow you into some secure locations. Ie; ports, high risk facilities (fuel & hazmat loading facilities)

    Terry270 Thanks this.

Um since when did they start mailing TWIC cards? Last time I checked you had to pick it up at the location where you applied.

They now give you the option of having it mailed directly to you.

Well I surely wasn't aware of that now. That will make it easier when I have to renew mine for the second time at the end of this year. You go into the location and they take your picture and the other BS then off you go?

Yep, you got it. Everything is exactly the same, but they should give you the option of having it mailed to you.

    sxdime Thanks this.

You just have to call them if it doesn't arrive in 5-15 days.

    sxdime Thanks this.

I made an appointment on line a few days ahead of time. I was in and out in less that 15 minutes. They also take walk ins but appointments take priority and they will tell you 45 minutes for each applicant.
I was told most people receive it in the mail in 2 weeks.
