I had mine for two years, all i do is show it to the guards at the ports. in the Ga ports, you just use your Ga port id for interchanges not the TWIC card.
it's a very expensive id card, or another way for our uncle to make extra cash.

None of these cards have anything to do with safety. I have been able to enter ports for many years and never committed a terrorist act. Yet, I must go through a background check and pay the government and/or contractor $135 for a card that says that I am not a threat. In some ports, I must also buy their card to prove that I am not a threat. However, I can enter some of the most secure military based in the country and all then need is my drivers license to run a check. That is expected to change before long. I have been told that we will eventually need to have a TWIC in order to enter a military base. It is not now nor has it ever been about security. That is the excuse they use to force compliance. When I enter some of these ports I usually see as many foreigners as Americans. I would love to know how they do a background check on them. I believe the TWIC has more to do with tracking those in this industry than security. Oh, and don't forget the money.
