Wrong! APM in Portsmouth is completly automated now. NIT in Norfolk also scans your card. As well as alot of the ports on the eastern seaboard.

    I scan mine 5 to 10 times a day

    losttrucker,
I am with you on that APM, and NIT both are fully operational..
I work for a Heavy haul company and we go into the ports to pickup equipment and anything else OD/OS and we go through the same thing Scan in.. Most of the time we have riggers we meet at the terminals and if one of them does not have a TWIC what a PAIN that becomes.....
I was out in San Diego the Ports South of there were scanning also.. I know a lot of the Bases we go to also scan makes life so simple to get in with out all the BS...
Simple scan and a look over the truck see ya..

    losttrucker Thanks this.

Two other fellas came in to unload while I was at Norfolk today. I got a nap, did paperwork, got some lunch in my tractor. They got to hang out in the lobby of the warehouse office... staring at the wall - no tube, no reading matter - just walls for non-TWIC folks to stare at. And this place wasn't fast by any means.
