kinda like those drivers who pass me, who see i'm running a GPS off my laptop, get on the radio, and open their pie hole to bad mouth how bad a driver must be to 'rely' on GPS. Because it is obvious it is easier for them to shoot off at the mouth before gathering all relevant information.

then they try to tell me how much better they are than me, because they never need a GPS...but what they wont tell you, is they've been driving the same old boring route for the past 144 years. Give me the same route, only needing to run 300 miles a day, and the same load over and over....and i could do it in my sleep.

No i didn't contradict myself. Just stated the facts. You guiys are the ones that keep wanting to argue the facts but have yet to provide any such as myself and a former dot officer have with the safestats. Guess you can't handle the truth. Ofcourse if i had to work for them i would probably defend them just like you are. Have a nice day. There is no need for me to continue unless you have some stats and facts that back your position on this. Have a nice day.

got any more titles you want to throw at us? LOL...did someone not pay enough attention to you when you were a child? You might have stated the facts as a whole company, but MY skills are far better than some 20 year old punk kid whos only choices were to go into the military, go into truck driving school or get kicked out of home. I am a bit older, wiser and can handle a truck better than that same kid who has 3 accidents in 2 months.

and you sure like to put words in others mouths just to make yourself look good. i'm defending being lumped in with those who you say 'lack skill', and are the reason for the company looking as bad as they do.

I used to get mad when some drivers would make blanket statements about us Swifties. Then I decided I would shut up and let my driving speak for itself. I do find it funny, though, how often I get complimented on my abilty with very basic skills. Example, on two separate occassions, I have had a driver say I did a really good job backing when all I did was straight-line. I'm not sure if they were impressed a Swifty could back up, or if they just thought I was cute and were looking for a conversation opener :D

Back to the original post, there was once I was in the inside lane. That's because I was heading to I81 southbound, and I saw a sign saying I81S use inside lane. So without giving it much thought, I changed lanes. Then common sense caught up with me, and I changed back once traffic cleared.

If you don't take pride in your company then it doesn't take too long before you get a reputation. That goes for yourself also.

Swift is fine to start out with but don't be a fool and think it's a company that's going to provide a career for you. How many drivers have a perfect record and over 5 years experience driving for Swift? Use them as much as they use you and then move up.

True but when you think about it everyone is hauling 2 100 gallon fuel tanks. Get into a wreck and they are just as likely to burn as anything in the tanker. The ball of flame might be a bit smaller but the results are the same.

That's just not true. You have different hazards with different products. Diesel will not burn as quickly as gasoline and so on. With diesel I'd be more concerned with environmental problems before I'd be concerned with flammability. That's why we have hazard classes or divisions. But thanks for thinking about the hazards.

WOW! I hope everyone has cooled off a bit by now! I know it seems that everybody picks on SWIFT and JB. But if you happen to work for them, and find that you are irritated, infuriated, embarrassed, or whatever, over remarks made about them, then you need to grow a much thicker skin.

Anyone who is in trucking is gonna screw up, sooner or later. HOPEFULLY, it will be just little screw ups that don't amount to a hill of beans. But you WILL screw up.

I've done my share of picking, particularly on SWIFT, because they seem like they are the ones who are in trouble, more than others that I have seen. But I've seen my share of problems, including the companies that I have worked for. Unfortunately I've also HAD my own share of problems. It is called life.

There is no point in getting your panties in a wad, just because someone makes fun of the company you happen to work for. If you can't handle that, then how are you going to handle the dock forman who is a richard cranium, or the dispatcher who is a flat out pecker neck?????

In other words, just shine it on.
