I thought current meant last duty status change.
Falsifying is editing them, or colouring.
I'm trying to falsify my log, in order to keep it current, while I'm driving. Did I say that right? -
That isn't entirely true. There are situations where the regulations actually REQUIRE multiple log books...a feat which will be dern near impossible with ELD's. In situations such as a driver working and driving for multiple carriers, EACH carrier is required to have an original RODS from the driver, with that carrier's information. Since the driver only lives each minute once, EVERY graph needs to be identical, except for maybe shifting an hour or two to adjust for the different time zones the carriers' home offices might be located in.

Yes and no. I'm not trying to argue. I can be sitting for a few hours and dispatch will tell me to hurry up and be 300 miles away in 4 hours.
This forum is one of the few avenues of learning I have available. -
don't let dispatch intimidate you.no way you can make 300 miles in 4 hours. You tell him you'll get there when you get there.take your time and do it right starting with being safe. The forum is full of great information I'm just saying make time to trip plan.mindes, JReding and DDlighttruck Thank this.

That is not true. If I am running A trucking company and B at the same time, I can not turn in a log to A Co listing A Co while in reality driving for B Co. A Co only needs the total hours worked each day. If they are large enough that they need a unique format, they're probably not letting you work for another carrier.JReding Thanks this.

Thanks for the advice.
I can't get a straight answer out of anybody where I work about time stamps. Different answer every time.
We have a log auditor. Who doesn't know the log book rules. So I fill out logs. She tells me I've done them wrong. I ask her how to do it better. She tells me to go ask a driver.
It sounds like there are more time stamps than I was aware of. -
Honestly don't get too concerned about time stamps. You just need to obey the HOS rules and make sure when you fuel you are logging it properly. Do the best you can to be within 15 minutes on your logs of a prepass crossing, a toll situation and pickup and delivery times. Most of the carriers have contracted out their logbook compliance efforts and now all safety has to do is pull you up and any and all time violations are there. I am sure I am not the only one in here that's been through this in safety. Most of the time when there is a discrepancy found it is because you either failed to log a fuel stop or you mislogged it.G13Tomcat Thanks this.

Loose leaf logs is the way to go not hard to run two logs.
-
If the log dept told me to go ask another driver I'd say isn't that your job to help drivers or is it you don't know the logs.then turn her into safety.Alot of people who run certain depts are a joke.
