I would probably add attitude to skill and work ethic. Its also the only one that can't be taught.
The only way you might get that type of training from an OO these days is if they were a family member. Then you would have to go to a trucking school so the insurance companies will allow you to be hired somewhere.
Two things that are beginning to hack me off

I asked where he heard that bull sheyat....
He told me it was in his safety class...
Apparently the reasoning was that the 4-wheelers see the 4-ways and think you're stopped... -
-
I was using the 4-ways yesterday on the 40 climbing out of Needles like the rest of the rigs on that first crawl....
We were passed by a county mountie and two bears.... -

Hey :
I hate this crap too. UPS, is bad but I have to give the all time butt head award to the FED EX bunch. Mainly the day cab trucks .. I thought they got paid by the hour , Yet they speed in every construction zone and through every town .
Seems to be the only place they can pass...
I don't see too many newbies doing this kind of thing. They have other issues. They have no depth perception and can not wait to get back in the right lane after passing you. So they give ya about 25 feet and start over on you. But , I must admit I have seen a lot of large cars doing this lately too. No turn signals just come over on you.
This happens to me in states that have 400 to 500 miles across the state , What is the hurry about coming back over so soon ?
Fact is most of those large cars have been turned down now and they are not so large anymore.
You expect a loaded bull hauler to get down the road and I have always let them go. But flats and freight haulers are not in that big of a hurry or they should have left sooner.
I-80 going through the Gary In area seems quite bad about this. Why keep trying to pass. I call them "Position Jockeies" ... Just one more place ahead.
The other thing that gets me is the so called driver that has his left leg up in the side window. What the ???
Oh well there's is coming .. -
For the life of me, I cannot understand why my foot on that corner of my dash should bother you. I'm not impeding your progress in any way, I'm not tailgating you, I'm not cutting you off, I'm not swerving into your lane and it's only there when I'm on the open road. And yes, my foot was on that little corner of the dash when I blew that steer tire at 75 mph. I was still able to get the truck safely to the side of the road. I can only sit in one position for so long, then I have to change it up. Why does this bother you so much?
On another note, why is it you are looking into my truck to see what I'm doing instead of watching the road around you?StormDancer and Iceman_biker Thank this. -
What's next...putting the rig on "Auto-pilot" and going back in the sleeper to grab a sandwich out of the fridge?walleye, Aljay and otherhalftw Thank this.
