My I-shift has the E-P button but it does nothing.....stays in economy mode.
I press it and get nothing on the display.....I guess it being a rental truck they programmed that out?
Also putting the shift lever to flat (full forward) does nothing either other than takes it out of gear.....
It sucks running every load over 40k....

Yep, we leased a Volvo 730 with I shift, same deal E/P did nothing locked out, and it was an XE packaged truck, sucked in the mountains, but I attribute that more to parameter setup than transmission/engine function.

That's stupid to lock that feature out. It only changes the shift pounts until the computer senses the need for high boost/power is gone and then it reverts back to economy mode.

With the power mode the XE climbs just as well as a similar engine with a manual.

Thanks guys.....Time to stop at the dealer we rented it from and get that enabled.

This is a temporary truck while waiting on the new T680's to come in.
I still may have the Volvo for awhile though.
The hills really suck in this truck.

Smack them upside the head and tell them " there's a reason Volvo put that there"

    Really!
I was able to get into the display where it asks for a password to set RPM and road speed up.
The RPM did come up in manual shift mode but no extra road speed.

I use manual shift on the hills because 12th gear is so high...shift to 11th trying to hold 67 mph.

This truck is loaded and spec'd really good.....too bad it is setup like crap.

According to the owners manual having the shifter locked flat(full forward) is for power too...

I'm limited to 63 in 11th when I'm manual mode. But then my power mode works lol

That limit comes in handy going through cities so I don't find myself doing 69 on foot lol
